    "Waiting for location"

What is the deal with the Charge? Whenever I try to use any satellite based app's, I run into this problem. Does the Charge shut down the GPS radio even when it says it's on? I really can't stand waiting for sometimes many minutes for a location.

I know my wife's charge takes forever to acquire location whenever we try to use navigation. Granted we have GPS turned off when not using but do the same on my D1 and its way faster to pick up the location. Must be something with the Charge's GPS receiver.

    This.
I use GPS Test app prior to using GPS and that helps but shouldn't be the answer.

Same problem here. It took a couple minutes to find my position at first, but now it never seems to find me. It's gotten to the point where I dont even use google maps anymore. Sucks cuz everything else about the charge I really like

The EP1W radio has addressed this problem and I've noticed a big improvement. You can also download the app FasterFix (you'll need root access) and you can select the satellites to use (ie: North America, Asia, South America, etc) and you get a much quicker lock. My GPS locks within 10-20 seconds of enabling it.

EP1W is much better. Also remember to turn off the Verizon network GPS option. It contradicts the Google options and sometimes creates a loop.

Ctowndroid is spot on in my book... I downward gps tracker and run it as well as google maps and it speeds up lick time and increases accuracy. Also.... Try turning on google gps and phone gps AND your blue tooth... Why blue tooth??? IDK... But out has helped me out... Then I turn out off after satellites are acquired. The big problem I have now is that the gps looses signal when phone sleeps...
