After Market Batteries (3rd party )

Has anyone tried third party batteries. Having an external charger would be nice to keep a battery charged and ready to go.

Yes. They will discharge fine with the stock kernel but it will display "unsupported battery." Once you replace that, all functions are enabled and they act just like normal.

Why bother with 3rd party batteries when the Samsung battery is only $7.98 plus a couple bucks shipping on Amazon.

    Search: Samsung Charge battery

I have found some of the knockoffs don't hold the charge as long as the OEM batteries and those cheap chargers that you put the battery in and plug it into the wall charge excruciatingly slow.

The battery charger i got from verizonwireless.com works great. Doesnt take any longer than pluggin your phone in. Samsung makes it so thats probably why

Which charger did you get for the charge from verizonwireless.com ? When I search for compatible chargers for the charge, all I get is a docking station.

I would only use them if you have a custom kernel that supports non-oem (like pbj-oc from imnuts)

that was one thing that pissed me off about the DX when it got the froyo update, cut support for non-oems & with locked kernel that's crap.

This is one reason I'm still on froyo for charge is cuz I don't think they have a custom kernel for GB that allows charging non-oems in the phone. & thanks to the latest netflix update, I can chill on froyo longer...
