Time Stamp on Incoming Text Messages

If I receive a text message and my phone is off, the time stamp on that message will be set to whatever time i turn on the phone the next morning.

How can I change it, so that time stamps will indicate the actual time that they were sent?

I searched online and found the "sms time fix" but that did not work for me.

Any suggestions? This is quite frustrating... I wonder if this occurs on all Android phones or just the Charge :-(

your phone stamps the msg when it gets it. i would think the only way to fix that is if the original time is forwarded from the server or if its embedded in the msg and someone knew how to extract it.

It's been this way for me with every phone I've had on Verizon. I don't know if it's the way VZW works or just general SMS, but I'm quite sure it isn't anything Android specific.

I had an iphone 3g on tmobile and texts were stamped accurately even when the phone was off. I too would love to know a fix.

I never had that problem with AT&T. Sounds like it's a carrier issue then.

All the symbolizes I owned from.Verizon showed the date received even when the phone was off so it's something Android related
