Then, I get the replacement in store, which has a rattling sound when you shake it. Guess what? The managers at every store say so what, it's not our problem.
So, in a matter of hours, I somehow, without damaging the phone in anyway visible, manage to loosen an entire piece inside the phone. Sure. They say it doesn't affect call quality, and so it's not defective. Then, the manager says when he had a Thunderbold, it had loose parts and he didn't care.
Should I just return it, pay the $35, and wait for the Bionic? I mean....this is ridiculous. I remember when I had VZW years ago. They actually replaced phones with new ones. And you had 30 days, and no one cared when you replaced your phone or you got a defective one. Now, well, they just won't. So basically, if you have a phone you need to get replaced in 14 days, they say that you have only one replacement. Then, if they hand you a phone with dead pixels, they won't replace it, because "it doesn't affect your service", and you "only get one 14 day replacement". Not only that, but your 14 day policy is not extended so you can evaluate a new device over again.
It's simply incredible that people heard the phone rattling, agreed they heard it (service reps) and when the manager came over, he took the phone and shook it ever so slightly and said he couldn't hear anything. I literally laughed out loud and said wow. So you reps, you didn't hear it? And the girl replies well, yes but.... so I took it and shook it, and everyone could hear it, which was when they just told me no, oh well, it doesn't affect call quality.
Simply amazing.
Is the striped black and white lines, and dead pixels, really such a huge problem with the Droid Charge? Are they just giving me refurbs at the store? I'm thinking just return the stupid thing and wait, but Bionic....I'm afraid of the battery life. I realize no one can really answer these questions, but, it's just been a long day of dealing with people who honestly did not want to help, despite their cheerful recording when you call the store.
