Yes, open your app drawer, hit settings icon, then move the app your missing down to the bottom dock. Or you can move any app you want down to the dock. It took me awhile to figure that one out.

Thanks. I gave that a try. Unfortunately, since deleting the Messaging app it no longer appears in the Application List and I also can't find it it the Market.
It will be in your list of apps, just not necessarily alphabetically. When it disappeared off your dock it probably ended up going to the last page of your apps. I like that you can move your apps where ever you want and put your most frequently used ones on the first page but it can be an annoying cuz when you accidentally move an app, it is sometimes hard to figure out where it landed. If neseccary, just look through every page until you find it.

I'd actually LIKE to delete the Messaging icon from the main launcher bar, but the usual drag-to-trash doesn't seem to work...
