I just went from a Droid X to a Samsung Droid Charge, and none of my radar animations will play. Anybody figured it out yet?
couple of factory resets.....had Adobe Flash 10.3. downgraded back to 10.1, and reupdated back to 10.3.
Nothing. Love this phone, but have to have animations!

Apparently animated GIFs are something that the manufacturer can enable or disable as I understand it. Samsung has it disabled for some odd reason in the stock browser. My OG droid and Droid 2 both had it enabled. It is NOT related to flash! Animated GIFs don't use flash. Most radar sites (wunderground etc.) use animated GIFs for the radar screens.
The only way I've been able to get them to work is by using Firefox interestingly enough. I HATE it...but I have to have them for work.
If you don't care for firefox, try dholphin hd. Much better than the stock browser.
My DroidX Thrives on the DarkSlide!!
Work with enthusiasm as though you were working for the Lord rather than for man.
Well i spent all night downloading almost every browser in the android market. I did like dolphinHD the best i think, BUT... Firefox was the ONLY browser that would play the animated GIFs that wunderground and intellicast use for their radar animations. Firefox just loads slow. I wonder if this will be fixed in the Gingerbread update, or would rooting fix it??
Thanks for the help.
