    Screen/Keyboard input issues

I looked around, hoping that someone else had this issue and had a fix but I've had no luck so far, if anyone has any insight please feel free to enlighten this nublet.

Across all apps, keyboards and screens my touch input will just completely spazz out. Whilst using swipe, I'll be moving right and suddenly the tracer line has gone all the way up to the top of the screen, all the way to the right, then diagonally back down etc etc.

In regular keyboard(also takes place in Swype as well) I get completely random keystrokes with no localization whatsoever to where I'm applying pressure. I'll literally be pushing backspace and see q and t get their magnification to indicate they're being triggered.

My first question is does this sound software or hardware? I'm well aware of the growing pains that come from new phones so I'm prepared to be patient with this phone but I just gotta know while I still have my 14 day period in case I've a need to r-turn this one.

My second question is......no calibration? Seriously? Why is this just an accepted thing? I thought I've looked everywhere, but at this point I want someone to just come along and tell me "just do this, kiddo"

Very frustrating bump in the road, please help!

Further, but small development. This is not random.

The phone functions fine throughout the day, and then starting at midnight ( or so) the above problem re-represents itself. 3 days in a row now.

    Awfully strange.

    Can anyone lend any information?

You might want to try SwiftKey. Outstanding Keyboard alternative to the standard or Samsung or swype
    Device: Samsung Droid Charge
    ROM: EP3H (2.3.5)

No issue like that here, I would return the phone.
