better phones yes. but whats a smart phone without any signal.
verizon will bounce back. they just had a slow start.
The Iphone4 or the Droid
that is the question
that has me annoyed!
I am a iphone convert that went to the Droid X. Thought it was the right thing to do. Though I really do love the Amoled screen I am not ready to justify the retail on the Charge. But then again I really like the screen. The one thing that the Droid phones have is the Flashplayer. But is that really that important. I really use the phone as a laptop but for work but I have also have the XOOM pad, and in reality I use the phone more for entertainment than anything else. The Iphone had netflix, itunes and hulu and is already setup to stream video. The camera on the Droid X is great and so is the camera on the charge, but all of the pictures and video of my little girls is gone after the DX deleted them all. Truth is....I never had problems with the my Iphone.(except with the carrier). And is 4g really ready for primetime?
Well if you are in a 4g area like me and you try out a 4g phone like me, it's hard to imagine sticking with 3g. My plan was not to go to 4g, but it is really fast and now I am sold. It didn't seem like it was a full capacity though. I'd say when I tried it was running at about 4-5mbs, instead of 1mbs I get on 3g. Also I will not get a 4g phone until they release something better than the phones that were released last year (we need dual core, more ram, etc!!!)
Question is though, how is the Fascinate with the 2.2 Froyo update. I have been hearing a lot of bad about battery life and freezing up the phone. Like I said at the moment the Iphone seems to be a better choice.
I am rooted with Froyo on the Fascinate, so I do not know how the stock Froyo update is. I have heard mixed things. But this phone is awesome once rooted, i get like a 1600 quadrant sometimes. Some of the issues with stock fascinate froyo are fixed with a factory reset.
I really do like the Charge. It is a good phone, and I am sure it will be even better if it gets a custom kernel, but for me it is basically the same as what I already have, or a Droid X or even an Iphone. But if one was in the market for a Charge or iPhone I would get the Charge because the screen is better, it has hdmi, soft buttons, 4g and flash video. But if one waits a couple months the Samsung Galaxy S2, Droid X2, and maybe iphone 5 will be out and they are far superior in specs to all of these phones, except for the lack of 4g.
All of you guys saying "just 4G" have either never used a phone on 4G, or are not in a 4G area yet. I have seen speeds up into the 21mbps range where 3G is less than 1.5mbps, thats a pretty big difference.
I'm not rooted on Droid x I love it! It all come down to personal preference! I got 2 months before my next upgrade I'm hoping for the bionic!
