Secondlaw, hows the 4G signal holding up for you.. Does it keep randomly falling back to 3G? It could be my area because I remember my friends TB was doing it.. I'm in the "extended 4G area" but regardless of that - when 4G is on, I'm between - 56-80dbm which is great to hold any signal..

I spent about an hour in the verizon store today compairing the TB and the Charge. The TB definetly has a few more bells and whistles but in the end I thought of a few things... The TB is a fragile phone. My friend dropped one right in front of me and the screen looked like it was shot with a shotgun. At first I thought maybe it hit pretty hard but then read that this is common with this phone.

    Thanks!
That sucks, but that's what phone cases are for, especially the heavy duty cases. I own a tank for a case. I call it a tank because it's built to protect my phone from any kind of normal circumstance accidental damage. In fact I dropped my phone from 3ft (no exaggeration) the other day on to a concrete floor and the case didn't even have any signs of damage to it. Of course I could have cared less about the case, I was concerned about the functionality of the TB, considering it isn't no light weight and it isn't showing any signs of damage.

No problems with 4g so far. It's been pretty sweet.

because it is what it is. The phone is heavy and the phone is delicate. For that reason you require a "tank" to protect it. Couple that with the crippled battery life and you can be as happy as you can be. At the moment it's not for me.

Anyhow, I liked both phones but left the Verizon store with the Charge. The battery life is what sold me. + I purchased the extra battery and charger for the additional 50 bux.

On another note... I found this forum to be very helpful in choosing the phone but getting into the store and comparing them side by side should be the deciding factor. Couple that with the opinions and facts from this site... Well, I'm pretty sure I made the right choice.

    Thanks!
Lol! I'm just over protective of my toys, that's why I bought the over protective case. I see you still managed to purchase an extra battery yet the battery life of the Charge is what sold you. Any phone, especially smartphones with larger screens if dropped the wrong way will cause damage to your phone like screen cracks. I have a co-worker with a Samsung Fascinate who I tried to persuade to get a normal case, but decided not to because his phone was more attractive without a case. Well the one time he dropped the phone, he cracked the hell out of his screen and the phone still worked. Was his phone that fragile, I doubt it but how the phone landed is what caused the screen to crack.

My goal isn't to come into the Samsung forum and bash any Samsung owners because I'm sure most of you weighed you options and made your decision based on what suited your needs and not primarily on what others had to say. Hopefully your devices will bring you satisfaction for years to come or at least until your next upgrade.

You have been respectful. It seems like you are just giving your opinion and what you liked about your phone and the pros and cons of each. That is reasonable considering people are going to read this thread to decide between the two phones. I hope this thread helps people make the correct decision for their own needs.

I'm on a non powered boat for 12hrs a day at times. It's nice to have the extra battery.

My D1 typically had no problem with 1 battery. I'll also mention that I've dropped my D1 many many times and it still works.

    To each his/her own.

So far so good with the Charge. I'd like for it to be a little heavier but at the same time, when I'm at work I can put it in my shirt pocket without it making my pocket look like it's touching my belly button.

I actually find the battery life not so good. The MFG Calls for 11+ hours of talk time but I can't see that at all, maybe on 3G. Anyone else experiencing this? I picked this over the TB because of the Battery life. My X was pretty decent with the extended one.

    Thanks!
