I haven't used mybackup to tell you. But I know titanium will restore all o your data. Which is nice. Playlists, settings, bookmars and all this. It will batch backup and restore. So it's pretty much one click restore when you throw a new rom on. It will even save your overclock settings!

Titanium will link your backed up apps to the market so they'll show up in Downloads. MyBackup does not so you wouldn't be able to get updates for them.

    Rooted Motorola Droid w/UD Rom

Well I was running DroidMod, but I wanted to explore some other Roms (It was my first unless you want to call Sholes, and DroidMod completely different. But yet again they kinda are) so I switched to Bugless Beast (didn't wipe, and no problems without wiping). Which I liked a lot. I used that for about a day and a half, then switched to Cyanogen for Droid of course. I think I had to wipe to get bugs fixed. I then switched from that to my current Rom UltimateDroid (Which is absolutely amazing), but I felt the urge to explore some more. (Btw Ultimate required wipe to fix bootloop) I just didn't want to go through these bugs again. Thanks all.
    I GOT IT BAKKKK!!!!!

Thanks. When I moved to a 2.1 rom, I used Mybackup. It did the job but I do not believe that it save playlists, bookmarks, and settings.

I just checked MyBackup. When I tap backup and select apps it does provide three options. apk. data, and apk&data. If I select data I can choose to store on SD card or Online.

So if I understand correctly, Titanium is linked to the Market and MyBackup is not.

A lot of familiar names in this thread! good to see ImissnlovemyDroid has gotten past those initial problems and is swapping roms like a pro!

When I first rooted I went to SG4.1 and kept my data and cache. No issues. Kept them going to SG5.0 too. Wiped going to SG6.0 but I did back up with Astro. It didn't take long to get things back how I wanted them on the desktop. I'm still using ultimateFaves too and have gotten pretty quick at flipping through the carousels. It really saves desktop space. That with HelixLauncher has me quite happy.

If you apply a rom or theme - backup first!
If you don't know how to backup...Stop until you do.
hint: I name my backups like this: sg6.0_20100428 or ss4.2_20100626 to easily find them later. rom and date.
