    HTC Rooted Thunderbolt Update Fail

N00b mistake here ladies and gentleman. Sure this has been covered before... could someone point me to the right thread or answer directly for me?

I have a rooted thunderbolt... and when i was asked to update recently i kept refusing at first. And then for no rational reason one day... i accepted.

well, now its rebooting and trying to apply the update and it gets 3rd of the way into the install and the android guy and exclamation yield appear and ruin my day.

i tried rebooting and it boots up... and i feel like i have my phone back for a moment and then it immediately starts rebooting and applying the install.

Is there an easy way to just delete the update so it doesnt keep trying to apply it?

Or do i have to unroot this thing and start all over? i do not care about the update, in fact i would rather not have it. why did i accept then? i dunno... i have no answers people.

    My thunderbolt is also stuck

Yes - this morning I quickly hit "OK" to a software update when I was getting out of bed and really sleepy. Now I have the same android exclamation point, and the phone won't turn off without removing the battery.

    Can someone please help us?!

    Oh strange...

Hmm... I took out the battery and rebooted, now at least the phone seems functional. Did you try that zen?

All i had to do was hit Menu when the yield sign was up and go to wipe cache... problem solved.

    go back to stock?

I did the same thing and my Thunderbolt kept rebooting to the android with the "!", It seems if you have rooted your phone, It you do a factory reset it will reset back to the rooted version but you lose all your Data but your phone is still rooted, Back up all your Data, be sure to have your SUPERUSER app installed before reset, for some reason mine was not deleted on the reset.

    Good Luck
