LG Vortex question

I just bought an LG Vortex, and I've been messing around with it the last 2 days. I was adding my contacts, and used the feature to add one of them as a speed dial to my home screen. Is there a way I can delete that speed dial?
Anyone have an idea how to do that?

Also, any tips or recommendations for this phone?

You should be abler to long press (press and hold) the speed dial icon and drag to the trash.

just hold it down and drag it into the garbage can at the bottom of the screen when it appears

Hi, I've only had the Vortex for a month and still getting familiar with it. Was wondering something. Whenever I get Yahoo mail notifications, it always says I have many more messages then I actually do have. Is it encompassing more then just mail or?? Thanks for any input.
