So, I dropped a piece of wood on my Nexus 7, which cracked the top sheet of glass on the device. Now, the tablet turns on when I press the power button, but there is only a touch response on a tiny portion of the screen. However, aside from the spider web cracks, the LCD itself looks just fine. That is, the normal lockscreen graphics don't appear any different. There isn't evidence of discoloration or missing pixels that I can see.
Before I go to order replacement parts, I have one, probably dumb question. Based on what I posted above, can I probably get by with only replacing the digitizer? If so, how much more difficult would you estimate it is to only change this part versus changing both the LCD and digitizer? Thanks in advance for your response.
