So are you having trouble with the D2G GPS? Wonder if it has anything to do with the using that DOD is supposedly doing. Are you in the Southeast. I heard something a while back about that. I'm on S Ga and it's working fine for me.
I also heard that some flavor of 4G was being tested that might interfere with GPS. They may be related.

No, having trouble with droid 1 gps and I'm on the east side. Don't want to load up raids 0.5 post with this so if u want to talk about it more I have a tread in droid general discussion about it.

Really wanting to give this rom/recovery a run on my phone but really curious about 2 things:
1) what is the difference between the shells?
2) selecting the current kernel setting will allow me to use the currently installed kernel from another rom?
All help is appreciated, thanks!

shells are how you interact with the kernel, best to just stick with stock unless you have a reason to use bash or busybox (autocomplete, etc), with busybox adb install doesn't work.
yes, that is what the leave kernel alone will do. This is break wifi and any other modules, so be prepared to replace them with your old ones. (thats why I say it's advanced)

RZ....great work as always....only issue is some of my notifications are black on black. Mainly Plume notifications. Not a big deal for me, just a heads up. Other than that seems good battery and smooth and fast. Can't wait to see your minimal approach to GB!!!

I have one issue. I can't download any zip files via wifi or 3g. It says failed download this file type is not allowed on your phone or something like that. Odd.

If you are talking about RZ ROM they are not zip they are tgz. You have to get astro from market, go to preferences and enable browser downloads.
You have to use RZ Recovery to instal it. It gives you some nice options like wipe data and keep apps.
