Is there a fix to get the VPN working with these kernels?
Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App
No, VPN has been removed. perhaps I can compile VPN functionality as a module... never really tried. I'll see what can be done.
IP tunneling is already resent as a module, you might try loading ipip.ko?
I am not sure what all is required for VPN, but I assume tunneling and ipsec and all that...
these are the modules I compield and are presetn in the ROM:
Oh yeah, another thing limiting my ability to include VPN functionality: I have no way to test it. I only have access to F5 firepass/Nortel Contivity, and there is no firepass/contivity client for android yet.
Has anyone made any progress on getting OpenVPN to work.
I was able to use OpenVPN Settings to connect to my VPN server. However it doesn't seem to be building the routing table.
I have seen some posts about adding ipip.ko but I am not exactly sure how to do this in terminal.
Can you post the tun.ko you used. I can't seem to find one compiled for Droid 2.3
I'm guessing you used root explorer to copy tun.ko into the /system/lib/modules folder? Then use a terminal emulator to push tun.ko. Can you help me with the exact command to run?
I have attached the file. It is actually the same tun.ko that I have been using since froyo. I had found it on chevy's site.
Maybe push was the wrong term to use. I used root explorer to copy the file to /system/lib/modules. After you unzip and copy it, just reboot and you should be good to go.
