Actually I have the perfect phone. And since my wife and I are childless, mostly due to the fact that my wife is imaginary. I plan on bronzing my OG after it runs its last process. You know, like a toddler's saddle shoes only droidier.

If I may assist, I believe the Zepius underlying point which I agree with whole hog, is that if something doesn't work on your phone it may well have to do with your phone and not the ROM. Hence the weakness of the behavior seen in posts above,i.e. instances of insulting the developers of the ROM on its own thread. Rather than taking this oh so trying matter to Dear Abbey.
Or going completely negative nancy and raining on the parades of the majority with comments like,

How long do I have to wait, Nostradomus? Several months? I am frustrated that I can answer the phone, as I thoroughly detest people!

I mean what up with being a glutton for punishment, flash a different ROM, problem magically disappears off to the secret problem burial ground, deep in the heart of Africa. Where all problems go to die. Just go to the secret elephant burial ground and take a right then a left at the quicksand and you're there.

Stop running the ROM and stop smashing the square peg into the round hole; I picked that up Monday while watching my niece.

Seriously, Captain Ahab, why make PE your white whale? Go and enjoy life and let us enjoy ours.

Because more than anything the posts are annoying but even worse, they're very boring. Reading them makes me sleepy which is the other reason I now hold the belief that your username was taken from some prescription sleeping aids label.
I know what your clever username says so no need to point out how clever it is, though why someone so clever has never learned the meaning of time to cut bait!

Always the philosopher, LOL, I do agree with him and you on the point of whining and complaining. It is annoying and if any of us could do better than go do it so we can whine to ourselves but on the other hand there are posters who always come back with same answer that they never have a problem with their phone so basically saying you shouldn't either. I am no ROM magician & have my share of quirks with my phone, do look for help now and again, try not to whine cause I have kids & they do enough for all of us.

I only slightly disagree on the my phone works so yours should too, underlying meaning.
Often I will say that, as if I can't replicate the issue then I also can't trouble shoot.

But this can be traced back to the Gingerbread Froyo wars. When GB first came out, some couldn't get it to run, some could but with some glitches and others had no problems at all.
This resulted in what I still believe was a silly argument, though I do understand the nature of the Froyo groups argument which they completely refuted.
Basically those who couldn't run GB began to forcefully push the idea that GB was not meant to be run on the OG and rather than waste time the devs should just give up and stick with Froyo. I saw this to be a rather self serving argument, as if you can't run GB the last thing you want to see is a complete halt to further development of FROYO ROMs.
But it was presented as some gift to the devs as they wouldn't have to learn a lot about the new OS.
Which is clearly in the devs best interest as what good does keeping up with the advances made in the area you develop for?
Wait that doesn't make sense, exactly.

So I would say for maybe 3 months you had the have nots pushing a ridiculous theory that the OG can't run GB. They created poll after poll never resulting in the conclusion theu supported. And you had people like myself, and I considered it luck of the draw regarding if GB ran or not, who continually had to scan through post after post of this on the ROMs thread. We were all asking, who should we believe? The people who can't get GB to run or the Droid in our hands that is running GB flawlessly?

I think this all is part of Newton's theory that misery loves company

When we rooted our phones we were hacking and to me hacking is about breaking things and then fixing them. Believe me, as soon as my phone is working "perfectly" I will search out a way to make it better which will result in my breaking the phone again. Because of this I know I will never operate a phone nor computer without it being broken in some area of its operating system. If there is fault it lays not in our stars but in ourselves.

Actually, I'm not a developer - but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

Got an odd one going here. My Droid has been reacting strangely lately, so I figured I'd reflash. Cleared teh Dalvik cache, cleared the partitions a few times, formated again, and installed the PE6.5 zip. For the most part, everything is good, but I get a recurring notification that Google Talk failed to sign in, and I can't receive anything from the Market. TiBu restoration of previous apps worked just fine, and since I am running PE6.5, same as before, I tried to restore accounts and the Market, but that's not the key. Should I simple reflash once again, and try from square one, or is there something else I can look into?

You should download a fresh ROM zip and then flash it.
The talk and market issues may stem from a bad download.

'K. It's worth a shot. I used the same file I had downloaded previously, but what the heck, I'll poke it again. Update coming soon.

Before I proceed, I'm a little concerned that TiBu is only showing that I have 4 apps. In reality, I've got closer to 100. Telling TiBu to refresh the apps list doesn't change anything. WTF is up with that?
