    Custom Notification Sounds

Has anyone been able to use custom sounds for notifications? I have one that worked fine in PE 4.x using TonePicker but I can't even access TonePicker in PE 5.x. Any suggestions?

All of my notifications are custom sounds -- AOL's "You've Got Mail" for K-9, "Message Detected" for GMail, Darth Vader breathing for GTalk (which is kind of awesome, because I get heavy breathing every time I get a GTalk IM -- LMAO), Chewbacca for Handcent SMS messages, etc. I have them all in a "notifications" folder on my SD card.

What are you assigning sounds to that requires a second party app?

Androids built in sound preferences work fine for me.

The ogg file I'm looking to use is already in a "Notifications" file, but it's not the one that PE looks to for notification ringtones. That's what TonePicker helped with. Using Astro I can't seem to find where PE has the ringtones so I'm not sure how to get the file I'm looking to use into the folder with all of the other ringtones.

If you use ringdroid it will find all music files on your phone and it allows you to edit them a bit and you can save them to any type of file you can use for your phone and it automatically puts it in the right place so you can find it when you change the notification settings

I just created a "notifications" folder on the root of my SD card, and whenever I go to select a notification ringtone, they're available.

Created a "Notifications" folder, dropped the file in it, and it worked perfectly. Funny how we learn how to do something in a particular way and assume it's the best way until shown otherwise. Thanks again for all of your help.

I just made a notifications folder at the root of the SDcard and I'm still not able to use my custom ringtones. They are in MP3 format and worked just fine on my Droid X....any ideas?
