Issue with PE5: Google Maps and Music

I'm not sure if anyone else can reproduce this issue, but I've been having the following issue:

When driving, and using Google Maps for navigation, if I have the Music app playing in the background and a cable from the headphone jack to my car's radio, it will occasionally pause on it's own, or about 50% of the time not restart after pausing for giving voice navigation instructions.

I have a clean install of PE5 and restored apps via TitaniumBackup.

Not sure what other information I can give, but if you ask for it I will try to provide it.

I have the same issue. If I use the browser while my music is running it will pause. Jump over an restart and go back it will just pause again. Now I did use titanium to freeze the music app and ran an alternative music app from the market, it didn't do it again but then the system didn't recognize my 2000 plus song on my SD card....

Running fresh install of PEv5 and everything's great. Except the music bit.

I've been having the same issue with the music app. It happens with Pandora too. Although Pandora has paused on its own without me doing anything else with the phone at the time.

The music issues you are describing are, from what I've read, quite common. Like you, I cannot use the browser and listen to music at the same time. Perhaps the issue is that the built-in task killers that have come in all version of Android OS is extra aggressive in Gingerbread. Or it could have something to do with the fact that this OS isn't meant to run on the OG Droid and the lower RAM on our phones is the reason this happens. Whatever the reason, it sure is annoying.

I agree that low RAM and aggressive task killing is an issue. I am having issues with Screebl and SwipePad constantly getting shut down and me having to go into the app drawer to restart them, particularly after running CPU intensive games, browsing sites with high Flash content, etc. I may go back to PE 4.2

I used titanium to freeze the stock music app and I'm running just mixzing music. It hasn't paused on its own yet..... try your own music app from the market.
