I have tried GLD's method going from one GB rom to another and it works flawlessly.
But when I tried to use the method to go from a GB rom to a Froyo rom, after restoring, I was getting FCs all over the place.

If you leave out some of the system restore items it will work. Experiment until you have success.

By System restore items, I take it you mean the items in green listed in step 8?

In my experience on going from Froyo to GB and Vice Versa you should only restore missing apps and data. Never restore system data or you will have FC Issues.

Good advice. Currently running PE6 2.3.3 If 2.3.4 is as good as this, I'll not be going back to Froyo. If not, I try not restoring any system data and see what happens.

Titanium just came out with an update. This update lets you use either system busybox/SQLite or a special Titanium Backup version.

Wonder how this will effect restores/backups?

    Clean Install

I recently installed the lastest gingerbread build and started to restore all system data with TB. I then relized this may have been a bad idea and canceled the restore. I basically want to go back to the point when i had a clean gingerbread install without any system data that i restored from TB.

Can i just do a factory reset in CWR and format system and data or do i have to start all over with sbf to froyo again. please help!!

Should be able to simply wipe and reinstall. Just repeat exactly what you did up until the whole "Accidental Restore" point. lol
