How do I get the contacts to list last name first? I am sure that there are may more questions on contacts like how to sync with Outlook.

I don't think you can!

You have to be kidding. I have 21 contacts with the name of "John" perhaps I need to get rid of some of my "John" friends and get some with other first names.

PS I did find a way - I switch the first and last names in the CSV file before I upload it to GOOGLE.

I'm currently having issues with this. No matter which field (first,last) is first in the CSV file, they still appear first/last in my droid. Argh.

Any insight?

Switch the order of the two columns but not the titles i.e. last becomes first and first becomes last. It works for me.

try this, go to your contacts list:
-tap on contact name
-menu
-edit contact/look at first two columns, you'll see name then last name.
-erase name/write contact's last name
-erase last name/write first name
-tap done and should be good to go.

there are contacts that you probably won't be able to edit, like the ones synced with facebook. you know, now that i think about it, that's a way of setting up contacts that not a lot of people would do...
