Grandma's Boy.
Grandma's Boy.
Ever notice that those older movies give you a chance to talk during the movie? The newer ones seem to be non-stop dialog and longer scenes of no music too. I was watching "Thunderfoot and Lightfoot" with my son recently and it went too slow for him. Lots of outdoor scenes with no dialog at all. Bridge Over the River Kwai was like that for my wife but I enjoyed that one too.
Wedding Crashers (unedited version)
Animal House
Caddy Shack
Super Bad
It just says everything is faster paced these days. ie: I want OTA 2.1 and I want it now
Computers were supposed to make life easier. Now not only do you need to be open 7 days a week but being open 24 hours a day is even better.
To get back on topic...The Score is another good film.
Scarface for the win!!!
These would probably be my top three.
12 Angry Men- The simplicity and acting have always blown me away.
Shawshank Redemption- best adaptation of a Stephen King story.
Blade Runner-sci fi just doesn't get better than this.
Alien-OK, maybe it does.
Love Actually-has become a Christmas tradition
Forest Gump by miles and miles.
After that, have to go with Man on Fire, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and finally Mr. Hollands Opus.
BUT, I think Avatar enters it's own catagory of movies that are just a real treat to watch, and in this catagory nothing even comes close except the Lord of the Rings trilogy. These movies simply take me to another world and make me believe in the characters.
this is a tough one. gonna have to think about it.
