    Programming language

    What would be a good programming language to start out on? I'm in the process of switching over to ubuntu version of Linux. I'd just like to start expanding my personal knowledge. I'd like to teach myself but I'll go to school if needed.

    if this were 10 years ago, i'd tell you VB just to get your fundamentals down. these days, i'd recommend Java.
