not really, unless somebody has actual copies of the contracts between ATT and Apple. We have no idea what is going on behind closed doors

did you read the article you linked? the author says in the first sentence to take this with a grain of salt. if full of specualtion, guesses, and hypothesis. there is no evidence behind what is being said.

after reading this, i completely dismissed all the information as rubbish.

It is full of speculation yes but there is a reason. Initial reports back in 2007 when the exclusivity deal was signed is that is was signed for 5 years. That was reported by a number of large news agencies as well. Now it's saying that they re-upped until the end of this year which would mean that there was no five year deal. Who knows? Point is no one really knows what the contract states or for how long it lasts.
