Sure nice argument, cydia and 9.99 for 500 minutes, how about google voice with SIP, free calls and texts, for free. Not limited to a certain amount of minutes, but free from any wifi, even a hotspot. sorry =(, free is always better than not free, as has been shown in studies.
Android May Be the Greatest Legal Destruction of Wealth in History
Look through the links in that article, and the links they have within them, a very interesting, yet long, read.
I use the canadian site because the new layout on the US site sucks, but the canadian one maintains the old look, with the same new articles.
Most of the things mentioned concerning Cydia are standard on Android out the box.
As of right now that is always gonna be a pro for Android in the Android vs. iPhone debates. Most things you have to jailbreak an iPhone to do is done on Android out the box.
An article I found
Top 10 Awesome Android Features that the iPhone Doesn’t Have article at
In the article it states it states "This post isn't meant to flame or troll the iPhone; it's more of a "If you've decided to go Android, make sure you're taking advantage of these awesome exclusive features, since they're part of what makes Android great" post."
I agree with the OP
Even WebOs has a central homebrew application/patch repository. I had a pre plus for about a year.
The thing is there are hundreds of android phones, and many root features such as themes and roms are different for every single one.
Maybe something like a "Root App Marketplace" would work though.
way to bring back a dead thread...
Or another example: "woah I can explore the all the files that make my phone run. I think I will delete this file just to see what it does" and now their phone won't even turn on, because they had the freedom of tampering. I believe the process of rooting is important. It will keep the complete idiots away. You have to have some sense of what you're doing to root so you would have the same sense to know when to overclock, how much to overclock, delete random system files ( I don't see why you would unless you're a rom dev) and etc. And maybe if we are given that freedom without rooting, you won't be protected by your insurance if you screw up your phone due to tampering or tweaking. Then people would get mad and leave that provider making them lose profit.
Sorry if I sounded argumentative or rude in this post, its just my opinion.

Why is this retarded thread even on an ANDROID forum?
