Nokia gives FREE GPS for Life.

Surprised I haven't seen anything about this on the forums... usually stuff like this pops up here
Title says it all, Nokia is giving away free GPS with all handsets.

Any thoughts or comments on this topic? Do you think it'll have any affect on Google's Free Navigation?

Basically it's a good attempt, but at this point can't beat google. It's a very good move on the part of nokia. It will be interesting to see if google does anything in response to it. Good reads either way.
    Resistance is futile.

I thought it was interesting. Nice to see another free GPS, companies are seeing the beneift... the selling point it creates.
I agree that it can't touch Google Maps however.

While it may not be able to touch the greatness of the google maps, i wonder how more accurate nokia's directions are. I have for one, seen first hand a turn by turn directions that basically would have made me turn down a road to make a uturn 5 minutes later and come back to exaclty where i was. I know it's getting better everyday, just saying.

I've had some bad directions on Google Maps too. I always try to send a report after wards to help improve my area. Hopefully we'll see it improve steadily.

Nokia supposedly have put some effort behind the navigation capabilities so I'm interested to see as well.
