Why you shouldn't purchase the iPhone 4

You have waited years for this moment and it has finally come. In a drunken state of adrenaline filled excitement you rush to sign up for the pre-release of the iPhone.

For a few weeks you anticipate the excitement of your brand new iPhone and discuss it feverishly with other VZW customers waiting for it as well. Finally the day arrives and your shiny new toy is now safely in your hands. YES!! you scream. After a few months the newness begins to wears off. You still love your prized possession but that excitement has begun to wane. It's now May and the rumors of the iPhone 5 begin to pop up and.... "Whats this?!!" "A better device!! But I just got this one!!!" yes the new iPhone has some REALLY cool features that make your current device look a little dated and lets be honest this new iPhone is a pretty nice upgrade all the way around.

"This stinks! I want this one! Hmm maybe they will give us iPhone users a break! Yes! Im going to call them"

"Sorry Mr Patience you are still under your 2 year agreement with us. If you want the new iPhone 5 you will have to pay full retail for it"

"But I'm an iPhone user!!!! You have to give us a break!!!!"

"Sorry sir we cannot help you. Read your contract."

"But I'm an iPhone user!!!!!!!!!"

"Sir is there anything else we can help you with?"

"Yes my new iPhone 5!! I just got this one 4 months ago!!!

wait people : ) you've waited this long whats another few months? The iPhone 5 will be a lot better. The newness and excitement WILL wear off and you will be stuck with an outdated iPhone in a matter of months.

Not that Android phones are never updated and this doesn't happen constantly to everybody...

This is just going to lead to the next question, when is 5 coming? Is it coming "on schedule" in June?

Like others have said, there will always be newer. And I would rather slide in under 3G at this point. There is the chance the 5 will be LTE and I don't want to jump to that yet. Especially not knowing pricing.

... and def wait for at least the iPhone 5. It should be out around the usual iPhone release time and I sure it'll be a big improvement... Gotta have a new dress for the big show no?

I really hope LTE pricing is not outrageous, otherwise I'll be kicking myself for not upgrading to a dx and pay 3g prices when I had the chance

Lol... I was thinking the same thing... Looks like VZW is taking all the right steps to ruin their CS just like AT&T did, and just to please crapple... Been looking at a new house might be time to move where I can get t-mobile coverage.

Lol... I was thinking the same thing... Looks like VZW is taking all the right steps to ruin their CS just like AT&T did, and just to please crapple... Been looking at a new house might be time to move where I can get t-mobile coverage.

T-Mobile is getting serious consideration from me.

I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions... gonna let things settle down and play out... but if it looks like special treatment I'm switching.

It's too bad, because it all comes across as a hatred for the iPhone itself... when it's not. The device is stellar (like it or not) and it simply works.... but Apple's business model is one of a bully and I don't care for it.
