Why are people mad that verizon is getting the iphone?

If you dont like it then dont buy it. This will only help verizon theyre going to get alotta people to switch from at&t and people that wanted the iphone but didnt want at&t will come to verizon

A lot of them seem to think that it will hog data with so many users but the truth is Android phones use quite a bit more data so i think Verizons network has standed the test....I'm all for because as many people have said, it will make Android handsets manufacturers continue to improve drastically.

I look at this as a good thing. More iPhones in the market create more competition. Competition is good for consumers. Now that Verizon has the iPhone more people will get iPhones. The more people that have iPhones the more Android devs have to work to get more customers. This will result in better phones, better applications and more stuff for those of us that decide to stick with Android-based phones.

Also, this may cause a price war between AT&T and Verizon. iPhone was one of the things that AT&T had to keep the upper hand. Now that Verizon has one, and I'm no economy expert, I believe AT&T will have to offer deals to compete. Verizon will then have to offer deals to compete with AT&T.

When phone carriers compete, consumers win. :P

^ This as well. I couldn't care who wants an iPhone vs Android. The more choices I'm offered the happier I am. Before I was limited to dumb phones, RIM, Android, Windows. Now I have the choice of going Apple if I so choose.

I seriously doubt Big Red will have to offer deals. They will now have best of both worlds, new Android devices and the Iphone. AT&T is probably quivering in a corner somewhere anticipating the loss of millions of customers because of their crappy service. I've been a VZW customer since 2002, and though their prices could be better, their service is the best imo.
