Why are people mad that verizon is getting the iphone?

Well look at it from Verizons eyes AT&T was starting to get highend android phones while still holding on to the iphone now the grounds are level. I hate apple so by osmosis I hate the iphone. My hate is deep and will not be undone by my new ability to buy the iphone. My hate stems from my IT background and having to deal with apple osx. Butmy hate is my hate. Happy shopping to those who wish to buy the iphone.

I wish verizon would announce some release dates for their new android phones. My upgrade has been burning a hole in my pocket since october and I may be enticed to try the iphone out for a while if they don't release these android phones soon. I have another upgrade due in september so if I hate the iphone I won't be stuck with it long.

Let me be clear. I AM brand loyal. I spend top dollar on a great deal of things. If they perform as advertised or better, I go back. I am NOT blind, just a seasoned consumer if you will.

That's fair but no matter how you slice it, saying one os is superior to the other is an opinion as both have PLENTY to offer. And brand loyalty is a large reason why the iphone will be a best seller on VZW in no time...superiority not applicable.

Since I've joined DF, this has been a common thread... sadness/anger/bewilderment by members who feel they have to "settle" for a Droid because there is no VZW iPhone available (and they don't want ATT for whatever reason.)

Now all these people who don't want Droids can go get an iPhone. This will mean that these people will move their conversations over to iPhoneForums or wherever iPhone users post. And us Droid lovers can get back to the subject at hand... ANDROID!!!

Not trying to promote segregation, but all this Apple talk has no bearing on what I want to do with my phone. I'm excited to get down to the real "meat and potatoes" of Android without someone popping in and saying, "Yeah, but on the iPhone..."

At first I was a little annoyed at the idea, but I think I was more annoyed at the fact that the rumor kept coming up over and over and over again. For me, the iPhone doesn't fit my needs, no matter what network it operates on. I'm hoping that this is actually a good thing for VZW as it will bring exposure to the quality of their network. They should learn from AT&T and continuously improve, which is in their best interest anyway so that they can lure people from AT&T.

I'm looking forward to the new Android 4G devices.

considering that a subsection was created for iphone i doubt people will be permanently moving. sure they'll frequent apple sites, but the established members will still come back...i like df because its a great forum with a great community, and if they allow us to discuss the iphone here more power to them....df is a business too...i'm sure they don't want a mass exodus of members to apple forums either...

You are so correct sir. And indeed it is an opinion. I like hearing opinions, and reading the whys and why nots. For me to be politically correct, yes, one OS isn't superior at all. But I am not, and I like it like that! Opinions are like ******** every one has one, whether they admit it or not.

I'm actually very surprised that the staff here has even created an iPhone section. I agree that those that felt slighted by the absence of a VZW iPhone and "settled" for Android should just get one now and move on.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I apologize if I made that sound like everyone with an iPhone should leave. I did not mean that AT ALL! I meant that more in response to the people who join and post 10 times about how great iPhone is and why they hate their Droid so much, now they won't have an excuse. I believe DF should maintain the iPhone subforum just like they have for the other devices!
