yep, i just thought 15 minutes ( i know it was used figuratively) is a little conservative. they've definitely got at least an hour of fame with this one haha...i mean its on every major news channel right now, in print, and even a forum dedicated to the droid has created a subsection for it...Quote:

Actually the reason we dedicated a section to the iphone is because we know some droid users were looking to get the device for their spouse, kid, or even themselves. You the member are important and we wanted an area to discuss it. So this section is here to stay as well...unless tomorrow att announces "sike..gotcha, we signed the new exclusive deal with apple for another 3 years" ... but we know that is not gonna happen cuz att choked it away.
of course, and i understand that. the point is, do you think iphone-centric forums are setting up subsections to discuss android? i don't know, but i would think not. it's not something wrong that droidforums did for setting this subsection up, what i'm saying is the importance of the iphone coming to VZW almost dictates that you have to set this section up. Because otherwise you'd get inundated with stories, links and people bashing the iphone or bashing android on the other areas of the site (this was what was happening before this section was set up). People were posting iphone news, rumors, links in every section of the site (and not just noobs who signed up specifically to post a link. Established members were doing this). If you delete this section, you'll get the same thing again. people are going to talk about the iphone no matter what. i applaud you guys for being open minded and allowing members to discuss it here. i just wish everyone was as open minded as the staff here...Quote:
