vzw iPhone Pre-Pre-order

I went to a verizon store today to snoop around and ask questions about the iPhone.

I asked when i can preorder it...

Before saying anything, they just pulled out a black binder and asked for my name and phone number then said "When we are ready to take preorders for the iPhone, we will be calling the people on this list so they can come in and pay for it. And those who preorder it from us will be able to pick it up sometime before the drop date."

So even though VZW didnt announce it today at CES, it does seem as if something is in the works...

i'm just saying......i've been reading posts where people are confident that vzw will never drop an iphone.

if thats the case, then i'm wondering why they would go thru all that trouble today to walk into the back office to bring out a big black binder to write everyones name and number in it for no reason....???.....just sayin'
