Hello everyone! I need some help...

HI!!!! I'm Krystie!

Ok, so here's the deal... I bought the original Motorola Droid a few months back and someone I know rooted the phone and changed all these settings. Never showed me what was done, just handed the phone back to me. Now, this person and I arent on speaking terms and I have NO IDEA how to work this phone... There is a small chance this phone is way smarter than me... LOL But once I learn how to work it, I'll be ok. I just can't figure it out on my own.

Now that I've given you the history... Here's what I want to do.

He put widgets on my main screen and personalized it, and I don't know how to change it. Also, he uploaded Handcent SMS on my phone for the texting and I love it, so I recommended it to a friend and she doesn't know how to disable the orginal text app it came with (and obviously neither do I).

My main issue is changing the widgets... and the icons in my application screen have been changed to pink, and I just want them back to normal.

Please help me... =/ I tried searching through the forums for infomation on these things, but I couldn't find anything... I need the "droid for dummies" book... ugh. Thanks in advance for your help!

For the Handcent thing, go to settings>applications>handcent clear default.

For the pink widgets and icons, he probably installed a theme. Try asking the person whether or not he just used icons from the market, or a theme.

I know he used a theme... and he refuses to talk to me now so I can't ask what he did... My whole phone is pink, and even though I love it, I want to learn how to change it.

As far as the Handcent issue goes, and assuming you're referring to double notifications, open the default messaging app, hit menu, and uncheck notifications.
With the theme, I think (could be wrong) the theme will still show up in settings > applications > manage applications (may have to hit All at the top but I doubt it). If you see it, click uninstall and see if that helps. If not, you may be able to press menu on the main screen and might see Preferences as an option. This is all assuming he just got a theme from the market. If he flashed a theme, we can go there too! ::

Worry not, these old G droid guys will get you all squared away.

Old G Droid guys? Hahaha!!! I'd have to ask my girl tomorrow. She has ADW and an all pink theme on her D2.

Oh dear... now I'm slightly overwhelmed... I don't see any 'theme's in the application manager. There are a lot of things in there I'm not familiar with and not sure if I should mess with it or not. IE:

Haha! You're probably a loooooong way from southern VA!
Go into your market and press menu and downloads to see if its there.

I know it may feel like we're sending you on a wild goose chase but, just trying to figure out if he INSTALLED a theme or FLASHED one (sorry for the caps).
