    Newbie sayin Hi!

Current Verizon customer, came over from Alltel during the acquisition. I'm eligible for a early upgrade, and don't know what I want. I currently have a BB Curve that's been very good to me. Hi everyone!

Hello, welcome! Glad to see another potential recrui- er, member!

I would suggest the Droid, but not because I'm biased from having one- it's just an amazing device. It has the best customization options of any Verizon phone I've seen- and from my experience with the iPhone, the lack of pinch-to-zoom is the only REAL negative difference (aside from AT&T's crappy 3G coverage ). For an emulation nut like myself the built in keyboard is a must have, and programs like Nesoid, Snesoid and Gensoid (not to mention GameBoid!) turn your Droid into a powerhouse of gaming as well, and take all your favorite old systems along with you. The apps are incredible, you have the far-superior-to-VZ Navigator Google Maps system (that is also... FREE!) and all sorts of free games. You can also pay for stuff if you've got the cash, almost everything is about two or three bucks. It's really got a program for everything, and with Flash support coming in Q1 2010 I feel it is the best option. I have never had a Blackberry but after using my father's for a short period of time I am happy to say I can't imagine going back.

The only thing I miss about my Blackberry is BBM. Other than the messenger, I have never looked back. Droid is the way to go.

Well I never use BBM so I won't miss it. For some reason, i'm drawn to the Eris over the Droid, but fearful of the battery life. I will keep reading up on things though and am anxious to see what people say after 12-10 ota updates. Thanks for the welcome!
