    Howdy!

    Just joined, just bought my Droid today! Today was the first I heard about it if you can believe it. I knew about Android, but didn't know Verizon had a new phone out.

    I was with Verizon for 10 years, then switched to Credo Mobile, then had massive billing issues so went back to Verizon and bought a Blackberry Tour. I had previously used a Treo, and I just couldn't get used to the Blackberry at all, so bought a used Treo off Ebay and just switched.

    Have been looking at GPS' as well recently, and when I saw the Droid, I just added a fourth line to the family plan to get one (since I just got back with Verizon a few months ago). Did you know when you jump from three lines to four that the second line suddenly becomes included with the first line? Neither did I! So I'm going to move my Treo phone number to an old phone not needing a data plan, and just keep the fourth line as my new phone! No increase in price other than the $199 for the phone itself, and now I don't have to buy a GPS. I just hope I like it!

    I'll be lurking and searching here for apps and usage information on how to get music & stuff on the phone. I read one review that said getting music on this phone is the only tough part. I'm sure someone will come up with something! That's the beauty of an open phone, right?

    Thanks for the welcome! Just to clarify, I did all the switching online, so for all I know it's an online promo, but it said 2nd line is included in 1st. I didn't want to bother with the MIR, but it does mean that I'm going to probably have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday now for my phone...

    Went back to the Verizon site to check my order...

    It's /. I can't retrieve ANY of my account information.

    I'll bet that Verizon is going to have a problem -- I'll bet they will have vastly underestimated the demand for this phone.
