New Droid User- Having Contact Issues

Hi,

I just bought my droid about a week ago, at first it seemed to save my contacts to my contact list and I had no issues. However, now everytime I try to save a contact it only saves as a Google Contact? When it does this it won't appear in my Contact List? Is there someway I can change my settings or sync my phone so it won't save it as a Google Contact anymore?

I've tried saving it numerous ways and it still won't appear it my contact list, any suggestions?
