    Another new member

Hello everyone. Since my Droid should be in my hands tomorrow I thought I would go ahead and join this forum and introduce myself. My name is Travis, I'm in no way new to forums (just this one) and currently have a hate/hate relationship with my htc touch pro that prompted me to try out the Moto Droid. I thought about the incredible but just can't bring myself to purchase another HTC phone.

Anyway, I just wanted to register and say hello to everyone. I'm now off to continue browsing the forums and reading/learning while I wait for my new baby to arrive.

I haven't picked out a name for it yet, because this will be my first phone that is self aware, which does lead me to a question. Considering that the droids have a male voice, will it mind being given a girls name? I mean, this is something that will stay in close proximity to me, I'll be rubbing and fondling it, and I walk around the house naked a lot in the mornings. I just don't think I would be comfortable having a relationship like that with a "Frank" or something. Would the Droid understand?

Hey Travis798, to the Droid Froums.

I wouldn't think a female name is a bad idea. I mean it's "smart" but not human and more robotic. And that way when you take it to bed with you, and you will, you may not feel so bad about it.

That is if your wife or SO understands.

Wow, quick replies here! I already know I'll be taking it/her/whatever to bed with me. I don't have a wife/so so aside from a couple of dogs and couple of birds I have no worries about anything coming between my Droid and I. I hope you're right about the Droid not minding a female name. I guess I'm just scared it would get upset and try to chop off my little guy while I'm asleep while laughing and saying "who's the b***h now?".

That would be bad. Very, very bad.

Okay even though i've only had my droid for a few hours so far i'm loving it. I'm actually posting this off my droid using speech to text. I haven't even been to the market place yet but already i'm not sure how i could live without this phone. In only a few hours with this it already blows 9 months with my touch pro out of the water
