New Droid Switched over
Hi, I am new to the Droid. After 15 days of intense research and questioning I finally came upon the decision to get the Droid through Verizon. The tiping scale: Skype reviews between the BB and The Droid. That is a feature I use A LOT!! in my desktop. I say its tiping since I read somewhere the storm 2 which was my first choice would crash too often compared to "never" with the droid. I still havent got my phone yet but I cant wait to get my hands on to it!
Look forward being a regular user and hopefully I dont bore too much with my questions. Nice to meet you all!!

Welcome, enrico74ec! You've made a wise decision and you won't be disappointed in your choice when that Droid finally arrives! The possibilities are endless for customization. So to take up some time (waiting is a drag), read, read, and read some more. You'll be amazed at how much you can teach yourself by reading the threads here in the forum! Here's a good one about app recommendations.
Forget the top 5, list ALL of your apps
Hope your new toy arrives SOON! Enjoy!

You do know about the new Skype app that just came out for VZ right? It looks to be pretty cool, as it is actually made by VZ/Skype so it will integrate quite a few more features than the third party Skype apps out there!
I have the Storm 2 and the Droid... they're both good in their own respects... I love my BBM, and the ridiculously easy e-mail synching with my berry, but my Droid is more of my "fun" phone. I just keep finding cool things to do on it!
If you have any questions at all about VZ in general or about the Droid, feel free to PM me or hit me up on GTalk when you get your Droid!

thanks guys for the warm welcome. I thought Fedex would come today but apparently they took into consideration the 2 day delivery starting the day after receipt of shipment. Oh well, one more day!
Thanks for the heads up for skype, I was aware of it and that was one of the main reasons I went with VZ and the Droid.
Now I know this may sound a silly question but Is there any way you can setup exchange with a basic web plan? Thanks for the tips

welcome to the forums.. You would need to purchase touchdown for exchange

The basic $30 data plan that you have is all you need for exchange email. You do not need the $45 data plan and and only in some cases would need the touchdown app, depends on how your exchange administrator has configured the server.
