About LinkBacksHello. I've never had a smartphone, and I think it's time to upgrade, but I'm having trouble understanding my options considering my particular situation with my contract.
Recently, I was added to a family plan on Verizon. That particular 2 year contract expires some time in 2013. My phone, however, is eligible for an upgrade next month. If I want to upgrade to a smart phone, that will require adding a data plan to the current family plan, correct? Can that be done?
And will I be able to get the discounted, new-contract price for the phone?
I'm just having trouble understanding Verizon's rules, and it's a very particular situation, so google wasn't much help.

02-06-2012 09:53 PMYes it can be done, adding the data plan shouldn't bring up any problems, as long as the main holder approves it. You'd get the contract price as it's an upgrade.
