    Droid ESN issue

    Hello,

I recently purchased two brand new Droid 3's and verified with Verizon at the 1800 number and also at one of their corporate offices. They said both of the ESN's are clear. I just sold them and the buyer is stating that the ESN's are not good cause he verified thru a site (or maybe he tried to activate it). Is he just trying to screw me over or it is possible that he's right? What should I do? I don't want to receive any negative feedback and he's requesting a partial refund.

    Ebay? I'd contact customer support...
Sounds like he's messing with you. You could always just give him his refund but make sure you get the phones back!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Exactly. He purchased 2 phones for $360 each (I paid for insurance and shipping). He wants a credit of $70 (total) to make it $325 each. I think he's messing with me, but hard to say cause he has 100% feedback with over 1600 sold/bought.

Yeahhh... I don't think I'd give him a partial refund... I would contact customer service ASAP!
If they don't do anything I'd just say you're going to only give a full refund upon return of the phones.

I agree with the previous posters. Contact customer support and do not give him any money until you receive the phones back. Be sure to check the phones over to insure he didn't do something to ruin them. I've been messed over on ebay before. Never received what I paid for, then the seller had the nerve to accuse me of dishonesty. Had to get customer service involved to receive my refund. Don't deal with ebay any more. Anyway, welcome to the site and Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah I told him to call me, so we can discuss before any decisions are made. I plan to call Verizon on 3 way, so we can verify together. He hasn't called me yet, so we'll see. Anyways I'll just get the phone back and resell it. It looks like he just buys and resells phones on ebay. Probably unlocks them, then sells for a higher price.

I'm surprised he's pulling this cause he has 100% feedback from over 1600 people. But he may of pulled this off before with other people.

Ok, he's checking it thru www.checkesnfree.com and it is in fact coming back as not recognizing the ESN, however I verified it thru Verizon several times to make sure. Isn't verifying it thru Verizon more reliable and accurate???

I would certainly think it is considering it is their network they are being activated on. Perhaps encourage them to contact Verizon directly.

Like JSM said, it's a whole lot more important to check with the actual carrier than a random website! That's who you're activating with!
