Long time iPhone user trying out Droid2

I just switched from AT&T to Verizon yesterday and opted for a Droid 2 Global rather than an iPhone 4. I've had an iPhone since they came out, though not always the most recent version.

So far I'm loving the customizability and fuller web browsing experience (especially Flash), but I have experienced stability issues that are rather annoying. I still have a lot to learn about Android, but there are a few things that I was used to doing on the iPhone that I can't replicate on the Droid 2 Global. I'm hoping someone here can help.

First, the text selecting functionality on the Droid appears to be very clunky. I can't ever seem to reliably select just the text I want to copy when I just want a word or a sentence rather than a whole field. I sorely miss the double tap to select a whole word, and the popup that stays up until you click copy. Am I missing something or is it really that bad?

What about Undo? I'm really missing the shake to undo your last bit of typing or deleting.

Also I'm used to being able to tap the top of the screen to jump up to the top of a page rather than swiping over and over to scroll. Is there a shortcut for that on the Droid?

These seem like little things but they're important to my browsing experience. I really appreciate any help you can offer!

Welcome to the forum. Its def diff from the iPhone. I personally came from years of BlackBerry and I had a hard time adjusting. However after learning what my D2G does, I'd never go back. If u long press, I new window comes up, u then choose "select text" and u highlight a word. Majority of things are long press first, then select ur options

If you're using swype, you can swype from the swype key to over the sym key to bring up a text copy/paste/select keyboard that helps a lot with accurate text selection.
