hey guys i got the DROID day one but am just now doing the "root" thing. with the 2.1 apps being ported over to 2.0.1 it sold me. glad to be a part of this forum.

Heya DNS,

you know that you dont need to root to install the portet apps from 2.1?
There are several Threads here including the APK so you just can
install from your SD Card using a filemanager like astro.

Only if you want to uninstall the old ones, doing the same thing (like the gallery)
you will need root

thanks tigger for the heads up. i found that little jewel out going through the forums since i have been browsing all day. but because the instructions have been so clear it was just a little step.

and also thanks to berzerk's 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 appz my Droid is very happy now. plus while i was reading through it all i changed my boot animation and now am looking for more fun things to do. like getting ink done i am addicted now to making my droid more unique than all the random "normal" droid users.
