    I'll browse through it, and try the solutions given.
    I'm just wondering why you guys didn't have this problem. I got the file from this very thread, so it's kinda strange.

    I'll try this and post the results here, to help other users who might have the same issue.

    bro, can you remove old gmaps? u use rooted 2.0.1 right?
    i tried these command but it seems it didn't work..
    in adb recovery
    adb remount
    adb shell find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name Maps.apk -delete
    adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

    in terminal
    mount -o remount,rw /system
    find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name Maps.apk -delete
    pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
