When I had my Palm Treo Pro on the Alltel network, I could talk and surf at the same time. Then verizon bought alltel. I can still do it, and I live in south central Kansas. When I saw the commercial, I balked, because I could do it!
I also tethered my Treo Pro with my netbook via bluetooth and could talk and surf and tether while my wife used the netbook surfing also. I guess it depends on your location!
You tell me why I could do it????
Actually, Droid does talk and web, as long as you're on Wifi, VERIZON does not.
And as for the idiot who said at the start "What if you want chinese"
A. Who doesn't know where every Chinese restaurant in their town is.
B. "What do you want, I'll order it" as you need to hang up the phone to call the place anyways

haha reminds me of when i was a new truck driver in Atlanta. trying to use a GPS, a nextel, and drive :/ lol. didn't take long before i never ever had to use a GPS again haha. i hate GPSes now they all suck i can navigate so much better by myself. that was my favorite job too :<Quote:

Who cares. In the past, cell phones were the size of a shoe box and all you could do is make a phone call on them, sometimes. If i am on a call and absolutely need to surf the web at the same time, Ill hang up. Just got my Droids today. I can talk on the phone and surf the web. I was using the Google navigator and my wife called me using her cell phone. My phone rang and we could talk while the navigator kept going. You can do this in southcentral Kansas.
Navigator doesnt use data if the maps have been downloaded. It is technologically IMPOSSIBLE to use data and the phone at the same time on a CDMA network.Quote:

Some do, some don't. It's a subjective matter. That said, there are a lot of people that weren't aware of the "problem" before Luke Wilson told them about it. That doesn't, however, mean that simultaneous voice and data isn't useful to some. Again, be careful with generalizations and assuming that everyone's wants/needs are exactly the same as yours.Quote:
