    Original Moto Droid Overheating

    Here's what I have:

    Moto Droid (the original)
    rooted
    Firmware 2.0.1 (the original)
    Bugless Beast 1.1
    Chevy 2.6.29 kernel

Yes, I know all that stuff is old but I rooted about 10 months ago, found a setup which I liked and which worked, and stuck with it.

6 weeks ago I noticed a drop in battery life. 3 weeks ago I noticed a gradual increase in overheating (even while idle), sometimes hitting 42C deg, which it never did before.

I haven't added any new apps in about 2 months and I don't run GPS, active/live wallpapers or beautiful widgets. I don't use ATK and I keep my SetCPU settings to around 800 and have the profiles drop it down if the temp gets high or the batt life gets low.

Need help with diagnosis. Is it time to upgrade to 2.1 or switch something else.

same problems on a rooted froyo build. but i have noticed that if i switch roms it seems to go away for a while. i tried leaving this one alone to see if it would right itself and now instead of just battery and overheating now it turns bluetooth on randomly as well

    Just a quickie....

These are both ROM's, one is stock (2.0.1) and one is Bugless Beast (based off 2.0.1), you can't have both. Basically when you installed Bugless Beast 1.1 you overwrote the 2.0.1 ROM that was on your phone.

    Firmware 2.0.1 (the original)
    Bugless Beast 1.1
Now...it's time to upgrade to 2.2. 2.0.1 is extremely old in this technology line (cell phones) and 2.1 is close to being considered old.

Bugless Beast is still around, he is still hacking the release ROM's and putting out his versions with whatever tweaks and themes he likes. His latest is V.04, it's a tad old as it's based off the FRF84B leak and the Official 2.2 has moved on to FRG22D.

[ROM STABLE] Bugless Beast V0.4 Android 2.2 FRF84B (Fully Deodexed)

Since you are rooted you can install any 2.2 ROM you want, just make sure to install one that has ROOT so you can stay rooted.
