Free vs. $4.99
Netiher is free anymore. They both allow a limited number of songs to be ID-ed per month and then are pay after that. Anyone who installed and used Shazam before a certain date (no idea what date it was) is grandfathered in and can use it free for unlimited IDs. I have both installed (double the free IDs!) and both work well.
I can search for Shazam in the market now and there's still a free version
Verizon has their V-cast Song Id in the market-Free
Just for information's sake I believe the date that you would need to have had shazam by (this means having used it to ID a song not only having it) was July 16th in order to have unlimited free tags
