Long press on the desk top
Select Widgets
Scroll down to Google Search
You must have been long pressing on the widget and moved it around, then dropped it in the trashcan at the bottom. You also can longpress on it and slide it to the desktop on the next screen over. I remember that confusing me a bit, way back when.

If you apply a rom or theme - backup first!
If you don't know how to backup...Stop until you do.
hint: I name my backups like this: sg6.0_20100428 or ss4.2_20100626 to easily find them later. rom and date.

Got it. Thank you.
FYI, you don't really need that widget taking up screen real estate. There is a soft key down at the bottom of your phone (far right), it looks like a magnifying glass. Press it and get the Google Search, Long Press it and get Voice Search.![]()
a little obsessive...
yea i can never understand why people use the google search widget when there is a dedicated button that does the exact same thing. Its redundant
