GSC for me too. Works great, thanks!
I am using Outlook 2003, but not using Exchange.
While at first bummed to think that my calendar would be out there on the web, instead of a more data-secure cabled sync from my pc through a USB to my Droid. But now I'm getting to love it. I don't even have to remember to sync. I have it set to automatic, although I can always click in the tray to get it to sync on demand, if I just made some changes and want to turn off the computer soon.
I just wish you could also sync the Notes from Outlook. CompanionLink (I believe) will do that via syncing to the Google Contacts, with each note prefaced by the word Note...
Google Docs can be used as the repository for Outlook Notes thru an app that costs some $$ called gSyncIt. I have the trial, and it works fine, but for only 20 notes. I have been hoping to find a free alternative, but I may have to buy the whole thing.
Love the Google Calendar, though. Even has the weather forecast for each day in it. Recurring events that you delete work even better than in Outlook, because in Google Cal you can say to delete any future events, whereas in Outlook if you delete it's one or all. I like having the history of completed events stay in the calendar. Try it!
Has anybody else had any trouble deleting ONE occurrence of a recurring appointment on their phone (NOT on the computer)? When I try to do it, I get a radio button prompt that is selected to delete all recurrences, but I'm not able to unselect it so that only one occurrence is deleted. I hope it's something I'm doing wrong, because to allow the phone to create recurring appointments, but then not include a way to delete one at a time would be just plain STUPID! Thanks in advance for any help!
CAN'T WAIT for a better calendar app for this phone!
I use gSyncIt...I purchased off the web and installed on my laptop - it syncs my calendar and my contacts with google and with outlook...it syncs both ways so I can make edits / adds on my phone and it syncs both. I had some issues at first but it was configuration error on my part - I am pleased with it so far. If you do a GOOGLE search for gSyncIt, you will find it and I think it was around $15 at the time I bought it and it was worth it to me...
I may check that out, but I don't think my problem is a syncing problem. I just can't edit the event on my phone the way I'd like to. I wouldn't think that a different syncing software would change that. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I have noticed that there are not as many "entry fields" on the phone as in either the google calendar or the outlook calendar....I input as much info as I need and then update my calendar via laptop as necessary. The software I am using is for syncing purposes only - I needed both my contacts and my calendar to sync with outlook and I did not desire to constantly update a .csv file. I should have also noted that I used the google calendar sync as well prior to finding gSyncIt...
I'm not getting calendar appointments back to Outlook if I enter it in my Droid. It goes to Google Calendar but not to the Outlook.
I'm using Google Calendar sync and it's set for 2way synching. Help??!!
i have (and had) no problem deleting/editing a single occurence of a recurring appt created using google calendar, but plenty of issues when the appt was created in outlooked and synced to google.
