Facebook notifications arent showing up as alert

I use facebook all the time and I would want to recieve a notification that someone has wrote to me. THe only thing that facebook notifies me about is if I get invited somewhere from a group, otherwise the comments and facebook notifications arent alerted to me at all. How can I make it happen??

I set it up to send me an SMS when I mail, I haven't found an option in either FB or Bloo to set a notification for that.

I installed Bloo, and set it up to notify me. When I get a notification, I open up the native application to comment back or read it.

Yeah, I use Bloo for notifications as well, it's got a much better timer, and I actually prefer the notification interface in it MUCH more then the stock FB app, especially since I don't have to keep refreshing the Bloo notifications every time I close and re-open the screen.
If that's the kind of notifications you mean, then yes, Bloo is awesome. If you meant when someone sends you a message to your Inbox, I think SMS is the only way to do it reliably.
