Touch Screen not working while charging

I just bought my wife a Droid last night, charged it, activated it, set up all of her stuff on it. Then today she was charging it and try to text and stuff, but she can't get the screen to respond while it is plugged in. As soon as she unplugs it, it is fine. I tried a battery pull to no avail, but don't know if there is anything I can do, or if I should just take it back and tell them to give me another.

Any thoughts?

If she is using an after market USB cable, that's almost certainly the problem.

Yep I had the same problem with a generic USB charger i got from Monoprice.

it happens every so often with my aftermarket chargers, but lately ive been getting the same problem with my OEM charger. and it worked fine for months when the phone was plugged in! Is this a sign that my charger may be going bad?

Thanks guys. Turns out she was using an aftermarket blackberry charger instead of her droid charger. All set and working now.
