Any app for Connecting to a FTP server?

I was wondering if someone could tell me if I can run some sort of server to connect to my desktop at home and login from my droid from anywhere in the world.

Ive tried using Serv-U FTP and tried connecting with DroidFTP & AndFTP

Can someone give me a step by step here, if this is even possible? Or any alternative?

    Thanks!

Some great tips in this thread:

Please note the posts about PhonemyPC as that seems to be the answer.

I think you will find it really helpful as I read it over and it all sounded like really good useful advice. That app PhonemyPC seems like a winner.

FYI JLB09 PhonemyPC does not allow for transferring anything to the droid from your home PC, thats what I'm after.

    I apologize
I meant to get back here, as there was another thread that would be useful.

I would think you would need both a good Ftp App and also PhonemyPC, but maybe you are only looking for the File transfer App.
