And yes I do know I am very old

The SDHC protocol as I said elsewhere supports up to 256gb if ever a card becomes available at that size.
THAT'S what I was looking for.

My first HD was 5 mb and cost over $400 back when $400 was a months salary. But before the FD I used an audio tape recorder!!! Back then I once said, "How could anyone use any more than 16K of ram?"

Cool, I remember on my old samsung alias (which I just got rid of) it could only support 2gb even after a firmware update. Whomever said you can add a second sdcard had my hopes up (until i read the post under it) since I have an 2gb card from the alias and an 8gb card from my sirius stiletto that Im not really using.
Actually it wouldn't have even been a firmware update. When I first got the Blackjack (sounds so primitive now lol) it's limit was 2GB MicroSD. But that was before they came out with MicroSDHC. All I did was install a driver file to the BlackJack and it was able to read my 4GB card with no problem.

I looked at that slot next to the MicroSD card in my Droid whneen took it out of the box. I thought "that must be where the SIM card WOULD go if I was in Europe lol".

My first "hard drive" was a 5.25" floppy and I know there are people here that could probably beat that.
    Mine was an Apple IIc
It finally started acting goofy 4 years ago. Had it at least 20 years.

I remember it was marketed as portable. Could get a smaller screen and put it all in a giant suitcase.

    Yea, that'd be handy.

My first PC was a Packard Bell 286. 44MB HD and a 12Hz processor. Yep, 12Hz, not MHz or GHz. I thought I had tons and tons of room. Also was rocking the 2400 baud modem and had a Prodigy account. Remember spending all day to download one pic only to discover she wasn't actually naked like the tiny little thumbnail suggested. LOL

Don't know how parents do it nowadays. Or did they just give up and every 12yo can see all the porn they want. Wonder what that will mean for our society...

According to the Motorola Droid specification website:

    "REMOVABLE MEMORY10
supports up to 32 GB microSD"

    http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.Motorola-DROID-US-EN.alt

So I wouldn't hold your breath that a 64gb or higher card will work.

    Actually I would.
Every smartphone that has been made only lists the current or soon-to-be current highest memory card limitation. Like I said earlier, the Blackjack and the HTC S620 (T-Mobile Dash) did the same thing for 2GB cards and all i did was install a driver for a 4GB card to work in both phones. No flashing, no wiping it clean. It will be the same (if not easier) if the Droid is still around when MicroSDHC goes beyond the 32GB limit.
Hell, the AT&T Tilt's limit is 8GB and I just sold the 16GB I was using in there for the last year. And I was using it in there before I flashed it. I'll do the same thing I have done with all the other smartphones I've had... wait till they make a card that's bigger than the limit the specs have, get it on ebay, pop it in and watch it work
